D&G Bus
RE: D&G Bus
Solo SR on the 300 route today. First time I've seen a Solo SR belonging to any operator in service in Knutsford.

RE: D&G Bus
D & G are currently proving a free bus service linking their Macclesfield town centre supermarket, closed for refurbishment with the one on Hibel Road, Hurdsfield.

152 - MX60 GWZ was the regular during the first week of operation.

D&G timetable for new 84 service: http://dgbus.co.uk/assets/84_2015-11-30.pdf It looks like it's something they've decided two of their buses can do between school/college morning and afternoon runs.

Also the new 1/1A/1B timetable which they say has been reduced due to low patronage: http://dgbus.co.uk/assets/1%2c1a%2c1b_2015-11-30.pdf

Variation Accepted: Operating between Crewe Bus Station and Chester Bus Exchange given service number 84 effective from 27-Dec-2015. To amend Route and Timetable.

I wonder if it's in response to D&G's registration?

Bright lights around top of Solo
D&G Bus were using an older Solo on the 300 route yesterday which had been modified to have a row of bright (I think LED) white lights above the destination display and along the sides of the bus with a red row of lights along the top of the back of the back. Why would D&G have done this? The bus has LED destination displays so I don't think it relates to DDA, in fact the lights above the destination display actually make it harder to read the display even if you can see a vehicle is approaching sooner.

Was it one of their ex goodwins solos? As goodwins had those features plus air horns (think the air horns are now removed).

Seen 2 of their ex Goodwins Solo's yesterday on the 85 and they had the air horns still attached. Smile

Yes it looks like it was one of these: https://www.flickr.com/photos/34487875@N07/22086499345 Not as old as I thought. I got used to thinking the 58 reg Solos D&G have had LED headlights and anything that didn't was older.
