Drivers are brought in from other garages to cover these rails but only drivers who have been trained on the use of the mersey tunnels are to take buses through them.
All the drivers on the birkenhead - liverpool are the ones who done the slabtrack last time so have all had the sufficient training on the tunnels as buses on the merseyrail contract are running out of birkenhead depot while the ones on the northern rail contract was running out of speke.
