Tour of Britain 2012 | Stage 2 - Nottingham to Knowsley Safari Park, Monday 10th September

Those cyclists will be out touring again this year in a stage that will pass through the local area. Entering Culcheth, the route then passes through Lowton, Golborne, past First's Lockett Road depot in Bryn, through Billinge, Rainford then through to Kirby on the back roads, before travelling through Knowsley, down to Huyton, over the M57 and ending on the Prescot Bypass by the Safari Park entrance.

Delays to buses will be unavoidable I'd imagine - particularly where sections of road are closed - affecting routes 38, 89, 352, 360 and 600 to name but a few.

A zoomable map of the route is available here
