Liverpool John Lennon Airport
RE: Liverpool John Lennon Airport
There was an interesting article (sob story) in last night's Echo about a woman who was fined £100 for stopping outside the airport for 13 seconds to pick up her elderly (70) father who had just arrived on a flight from Dublin. Her appeal against the fine was rejected on the basis that there are several warning signs advising drivers that it is a No Stopping Zone covered by CCTV and a fine of £100 for any transgressors which apparently she didn't see.

I've just dropped off my daughter at the airport and, in my opinion, if her eyesight is that bad that she can't see these signs, she really shouldn't be driving.

My advice to this poor victim is next time she visits the airport she uses the Drop Off Section for up to twenty minutes as it will save her £98. Having said that, she might not be able to afford to do this as she may well still be paying off the loan on her car - a very expensive, top of the range Mercedes saloon.
