RE: Peoplesbus
Peoplesbus had what looks like an MPD Dart on the 52A yesterday, freshly painted in the new pale blue/dark blue livery. Chromed wheel rims fitted too.

Didn't manage to get the fleetnumber, but got the reg; (W869 YNB) is the bus.

Keep an eye out for itWink

RE: Peoplesbus
Absolutely no way people will go for this.

Best part of 2 hours to get there.

£15 is the return cost though, which is more expensive and slower than a train.

Train is £11.10 return, add £3.50 for the Manchester Plusbus. Total travel time <1 hour. Lot more services.

I'm not even sure their restrictions on passes/tickets is allowed. If you have an ENCTP then it should be valid beyond the Mersey boundary.

For Mersey concessionary pass holders, the train works out even better, £8.20 from the boundary to Manchester, plus free onward shuttle bus.

All this is forgetting that Liverpool now has Liverpool ONE!

Peoplesbus would have been better doing a frequent express bus to Cheshire Oaks.

RE: Peoplesbus
It looks similar to the trip they did to Knowsley Safari Park where local passengers where allowed to a certain point , but thereafter they were forced to pay the adult or child fare if they wanted to travel into Knowsley Safari Park as if it was an excursion not a service bus .

If you think about Peoplesbus have to be applauded for looking at something like this , people love to be able to do these sort of things without changing transport modes , some people are put off using the Trafford centre by public transport outside of Greater Manchester because of not being accessible without using tram and bus .

RE: Peoplesbus
Who is going to travel 3 hours at the cost of £15, with a restrictive timetable, to go to a shopping centre in Manchester, when exactly the same shops exist in Liverpool...

RE: Peoplesbus
If there is two of you going to Manchester, you can travel from Kirkby station for around £11 for two return, can't remember the exact name of the ticket but my wife & I went a few weeks ago and train takes 1hr 10 minutes, why would you want to take a 3 hour trip on the bus. We even didnt take the car because the train was that cheap, if you want to go the trafford centre from Manchester City Centre you only have to get the X50 and you can be there in about 20 minutes and even paying for the bus will still save some money. However, Peoplesbus should quite rightly be praised for this initative but really there are better ways to go.

RE: Peoplesbus
It should be marketed as an excursion as that is what it is in all but name .

Changing for a bus in Manchester may be ok for people who know there way around Manchester City Centre but how many people from Merseyside know there Manchester bus timetables and departure points , by the time they have found the bus stop they have wasted a bit of time which could be better spent in the Trafford Centre.
