From late March until early May, when 1484-90 were branded for the 15, the Stockton workings were Pulsar all week (evening and Sunday X1 runs are Pulsar worked).

The fact that two garages are involved was bound to thicken the plot. My journeys should be the 8.54 or 9.35 from Gateshead to Durham, to connect with a 22 to Hartlepool. It would feel boring if both were the same vehicle type!

As my Gateshead-Newcastle journey would be to head to Carlisle for east Cumbria then home a few days later, the vehicle type would be immaterial then.

The 0854 from Gateshead is a Stockton working while the 0935 is a Durham working if what I've just worked out is correct. So, in theory, both will be different vehicle types - a Prestige on the 0854 and probably an OmniCity on the 0935.

So, I should perhaps aim for the 0854 being a Stockton bus. This way I am more likely to find my X2 and 22 rides different buses. At least I presume route 22 is run from Durham!

The 22 gets anything, of any size. While your in Durham, take a look at the 63/64. Probably one of the most oddity operated routes in the country, with a daily allocation of a Dennis MPD, ALX200 bodied Dart SLF's, Optare Solos, DAF SB220 Prestiges, East Lancs Lowlanders and DAF DB250 / Northern Counties. as well as the possibility of everything else based at Durham!

22 is Durham/Belmont-operated (they are, in effect, one and the same given Durham will close once Belmont is fully complete). That 0854 X2 starts in Middlesbrough at 0615 so in definately a Stockton working (bar the 1815 finishing turn, that starts in Durham during the week at 0600 on an X2, all the other Stockton X1 workings start as X1s at Stockton or Middlesbrough).

RE: Arriva North East
Although I'm awaiting full details, I'm lead to believe that the three way Enviro400/Pulsar/Enviro400 swap between Ashington, Redcar and Darlington took place last night, with reports that 1432 moved back to Darlington during the week. More details as and when they come.

Think you'd be hard pushed to find any ALX200 Darts at Durham...

Indeed, I believe they're maybe off to Ashington or Blyth to replace older MPDs.

1432 came back at the beginning of the week, but rumors have it that the swap has taken place between these 3 depots

It is:

7501-4 from Ashington to Redcar (though with 7505 already there, it's waiting to see which ones come)
1429-32 from Redcar to Darlington
7514/5/6/9 from Darlington to Ashington
