RE: Merseyrail
Thanks a lot for that MX12. You can't rely on diagrams on Merseyrail, especially on the Northern Line, but they are diagrammed to run the first PM peak six car (15.55/17.10/18.25 off Central).

RE: Merseyrail
These days there seems to be so many unit failures that the sets out in the morning some times dont bear any resemblence to the afternoon service .

A lot of this mornings 6 cars on the Southport line didn't run as such this morning. A fair few trains were running up to 5 minutes late too.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.

RE: Merseyrail
There was signalling problems on the way into southport , this delayed trains by upto 5 minutes and the spare unit was used to protect the timetable from unecessary delays out of Southport .

RE: Merseyrail
The 16.43 Southport - Hunts Cross and 17.51 return was yet again short-formed yesterday, using 508108 which had been sent ECS Kirkdale - Southport at 15.30-ish. The other unit to operate the duty was 4 minutes late into Southport according to Real Time Trains so they still had a few minutes to form the 6 car.

Disgraceful that they are unwilling to run the service just a couple of minutes late to run as a pair. The overcrowding on the Moorfields - Hunts Cross section of this service was appalling as a result. You also had five other units stabled at Kirkdale which were unused during evening peak, so naturally the sensible thing would have been to send 508108 and another unit to Southport together to guarantee a 6 car formation on the 16.43.

RE: Merseyrail
I agree , that if they are unwilling to risk late running from units running in service late to Southport , then a set should be made up already for this service at Southport , enabling the unit arriving at Southport to become spare .

09.49 from Brunswick was 10 mins late and only called at Central, Moorfields, Sandhills, Waterloo and Formby. Poorly announced though so no doubt some were caught out. Poor form again.

Sounds like a service that is now operating under Merseyrail's limited stop policy , it is much better than cancelling the service outright , but do agree a better announcement onboard the train and at the station where the service becomes Limited Stop would be welcome .

The limited stop service is used a lot for Chester services as well.
