Merseyrail
RE: Merseyrail
Merseyrail did have 6 cars on the Southport on both days of this weekend, but they were timed to avoid the homeward bound crowds from Liverpool during the afternoon. Looked like 4/10 6 car formations on Saturday and 2/4 on Sunday.

On Saturday 508127 was running alone on a Southport bound service at around 17.30 in Bootle, absolutely shockingly overcrowded. Even worse came on Sunday, when 507003 arrived at Sandhills on the 17.29 to Southport. This was completely full and looked dangerous, forcing us to change our plans and get the X2 back to Southport instead. I accept that some pairs are better than none but they need to be timed to meet the crowds. It may have been due to the fireworks display that these pairs were provided, but considering there were three six car formations stabled up at Southport on the Sunday, it is inexcusable that a full service of six cars wasn't provided.

Two recent 508 sheds in my book include 508137, which offered the loudest wheelflat I've ever heard on a train on Saturday (working with 508131) and 508124 which rides roughly and has extremely loud compressors.

RE: Merseyrail
508124's overhaul has not done it any favours. 508117 is the best of that bunch for me and 507021 still is the best 507 in my opinion at the moment with 507013 being a close second.

Worst 508 at the moment for me 508108 as the interior is in a dire state and worst 507 is 507003 due to the terrible smell I noticed emitting from the compressor coach the other day (burning smell)

RE: Merseyrail
Pretty certain 507005 was in a 6 car yesterday with I think 508123.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.

RE: Merseyrail
For most of today Merseyrail services to Southport were delayed and very busy due to a fatal RTC on the Formby bypass A565. 507003's burning metal smell and affected area needs to be sorted.

Does anyone know if the LORAM railgrinder has paid a visit to the network. and i'm gessing that the MPV has returned.

RE: Merseyrail
The MPV is out on the Wirral again , it makes a couple forays on the Hooton line first before continuing on to the West Kirby and New Brighton lines .

These MPV's must do a fair few miles during the Autumn and Winter months .
