Oh the Wirral line seems to have been having a christmas nightmare in the last few days.

Yesterday there was a train failure at Bidston and Bebington , this morning there was a train failure at Bromborough.

So these trains have been around all my life and will be the end of an era when theyre gone I will miss them and hope a 507 will be preserved like the 503 at Burscough.

It is a class 502 at Burscough. I used to travel on them from Crossens.

The class 503 is in Warwickshire - http://www.emus.co.uk/503.htm

507002 has derailed at Kirkdale again. If the damage is severe, I very much doubt it will be seen in service again.

RE: Merseyrail
Both units will be out of service pending investigation almost certaintly from the derailment.

On other matters there was a points failure that seriously affected a few services on Boxing Day to and from New Brighton in the late afternoon.

Last I heard the 503 is not in great condition having initially been preserved and then left in the open for a number of years - just like the 502.

Which was the other unit involved? Thanks. It didn't seem to affect the Boxing day Ormskirk line service as I live right next to Maghull station and heard the trains passing through.

Thanks for that. Wonder if either unit will see service again?
