The delivery this week isn’t now happening, postponed by Covid in Switzerland

RE: Merseyrail
How long is it since the last unit(s) arrived .

It is strange that the Northern Line is running a near normal daytime service and the Wirral Line is still running a special timetable.

The last units to be delivered was on 19th August. As far as I am aware, all units to be delivered have now been manufactured post Covid times, compared to the other units previously delivered.

Regarding the Wirral remaining with its reduced timetable, apparently this is due to staff being unable to socially distance on Wirral depot (Birkenhead Central) so can only manage the 30 min frequency (staff wise).
According to RTTs, this timetable is due to be in place until end of November (possibly longer).

Does anyone know if train crew staff are still on furlough with the reduced timetable in place?

RE: Merseyrail
Any ideas when 777004 and 777006 are returning back from Crewe after their modifications?

Is 777003 also there at the moment, haven't seen that unit on the depot in a while?

There have been no traincrew on furlough at any point.

So are traincrew staff operating on reduced working hours per week with the reduced timetables in place on the Wirral currently and reduced timetables across the network over lockdown?

Did Merseyrail make use of the furlough scheme for station staff at ticket offices, I noticed several were closed or operating on reduced hours over the past few months?

In regards to the furlough scheme the only tocs that made use of it were Hull trains and grand Central as they are open access operators. No other tocs including merseyrail put any staff on furlough.

What happens with traincrew at all tocs is that there's running jobs (on the train) , standby turns (in the messroom in case anything goes wrong basically) and spare turns (generally used to cover annual leave/ sickness etc).

Whats happened during covid is running jobs were obviously changed to suit the new frequencies, some shorter some longer. Standby turns remain but spare turns have been on a on call at home basis.

In theory there should be more people on spare turns (on call at home). However with the amount of traincrew shielding and off for other reasons there haven't actually been many spare traincrew around.

Stations wise I imagine had similar staffing problems.

Does anyone know what caused the last few trains out of Liverpool to be heavily delayed or cancelled on Thursday night?

RE: Merseyrail
2301 West kirby - West Kirby failed at Hamilton Square , with electrical power problems.

2323 New Brighton - New Brighton was setback from Birkenhead park to Birkenhead North and eventually ran to New Brighton

2258 Chester - Chester was set back to Birkenhead Central and eventually ran to Chester

2319 Ellesmere Port - Hamilton Sq terminated at Green Lane

Sounded like a bad night for the Wirral Line
