The MEN must have forgotten about all us bus drivers who work for Manchester Airport that don't get any brake over Christmas!

Give the MEN a break. At least they acknowledge the existance of bus drivers and passengers, unlike Granada and the Bus Bashing Corporation NW with Roger Johnson pushing for free Parking in town centres, despite the Timpson Report not highlighting it and Judy Hobson driving around in her 4x4 claiming buses are the sole cause of Pollution in Manchester. Come back Jeremy Clarkson and Quentin Wilson, all is forgiving.

Read on another forum that Stagecoach are planning to re-route the 34 in January 2019 to run via Monton and Salford Royal Hospital instead of via East Lancashire Road, possibly trying to attract passengers away from First's 33 service as a faster alternative between Worsley/Monton and Manchester with the roadworks on Mancunian Way and Regent Road.

Ashton enviro 200 36424 was used on 330 today and is currently being used on 219 due to a shortage of vehicles in Ashton depot according to Stagecoach.

Have Stagecoach actually publicly said they have a shortage of vehicles at Ashton depot?

Yes this the message given to me by Stagecoach on Twitter. I have tried to add a screenshot of it.

Blimey I'm surprised by that. There was a shortage over Christmas and at least 2 long term VOR's were towed from Ashton to Sharston because Ashton fitters were so busy it sounds like the breakdowns are continuing into the new year.

Stagecoach changes confirmed on their website.

Confirmation of the introduction of service 150, which partly replaces service 168. Service 7A will run between Stockport and Gorton on Sundays, with Dane Bank-Denton replaced by service 205. Service 230 will replace the short journeys on service 231 between Manchester and Littlemoss, which is re-routed to serve Droylsden and extended to Ashton. Also, confirmation of service 34 being re-routed between Worsley and Salford Shopping Centre via Monton and Salford Royal Hospital.

The other notable change not previously mentioned is service 23A will be withdrawn and replaced by additional journeys on service 23 and re-routing of service 25.

There's also a reminder of the re-numbering of services 540, 598, 600/601 and 658 to services 7, 8, 10/10A and 9 respectively. Service 593 will be withdrawn on Sundays and replaced by service 8 (598).

So it seems like the current 'short' 231's that terminate at Littlemoss will now run to Ashton but will run along greenside lane onto market street then turn Right onto Manchester Road and head into Manchester on the normal route. These will be numbered 230. Id have run these short journeys out of Ashton down Taunton Road - the old 168 way out of Ashton. During a spat with Stagecoach Maynes ran '230's which basically followed this very route and they were actually well used.

I had been looking at a local Manchester / Trafford Centre / Stockport trip of some kind for January 26th. I now reckon on avoiding the Trafford Centre so that I can next go there on route 150.
