RE: Arriva St Helens Paint Shop & Repair Centre
It would have been stupid to send 7622 to St Helens if was it was destined for scrap. It was minus running gear (the parts off the withdrawn Dart in which Arriva are keen to obtain for further use in Dart's and X-registered Cadets) , therefore if it was for scrap all usable parts would have been taken off at Bolton and dispatched from there, not having the ture of having the vehicle transported the short yet still considerable distance between the two garages for no other principle than to sit about gathering dust while it has minuscule parts awaiting to be removed. It WAS minus a lot of its dash and other interior access panels in and around the cab area from its lengthy stint off the road at Bolton.

In this condition, to send it to the talented chaps at Jackson Street only suggested Arriva considered a future for this vehicle. One must say, why not? Although not 'favourable' among enthusiasts, with so many different examples of running gear removed at Jackson St awaiting use must be considered. Although may examples have done so and continue to pass through for heart transplants, the sheer number of scrapped and therefore removed engines far outweigh the current demand, plus other examples being due for withdrawal and therefore stripping of the desired components means the supply remains strong.
