Ex-MTL Volvo B10B Wright Endurances 6501 - 6623
RE: Ex-MTL Volvo B10B Wright Endurances 6501 - 6623
Further to the list above (that I can remember off the top of my head)...
6504 withdrawn by Redroute and recently sold on eBay
6507 was scrapped by Quantock
The B10Bs at McGills have now all been reported as scrapped (presumably by Campbells?)

Something, something, something Dart Side...

6504 appears to have returned to the North West. I saw it before passing through Westhead (between Ormskirk and Skelmersdale) still in full Redroute livery and displaying 2 - Ashton on the destination blind.

It's the MTT's latest acquisition. Photo's just gone up on their Facebook group of it leaving the Trans Lancs Rally.

Looks like this could be the former 6610 now sold on from Stephensons of Easingwold to PSV North East re-registered to A7 SOE, credit to the photographer http://www.flickr.com/photos/uknorthbusp...351400774/

Sadly not!

It has green handrails, black window surrounds and different open-able 'tinted' windows than the MTL style.
Also the later endurance had square windows on the door (used on the liberator, renown and crusader), and this one has round suggesting it's an earlier model.

After a bit of searching, A7SOE is M105UKX.

Thanks for that- thought it was 1 of the 2 ex-MTL ones at Stephensons.

A Google search shows it to be the former M105UKX, new to Sovereign.

Interesting observation, Rhys.

There were a number of changes to the Endurance body from 1994-1996.
The most obvious one being the re-positioning of the radiator grille on later models (6501-6559 had the grille before the rear axle, 6561-6623 had the grille after the axle).

The square-cut door windows seem to appear on the final 6604-6623 models, along with red marker lights on the rear quarter panelling. These Gillmoss-bound buses also had increased seating capacity (B50F) due to three tip-up seats in the luggage bay.
Kind of ironic that isn't it? Try getting a wheelchair (or baby buggy) onto a high-floor step-entrance bus!LOL
I suppose it proves Wright were intent on creating low-floor stuff and the B10B chassis was running on limited time.

Incidentally, fond memories of riding ZF-equipped 6623 (N623 CKA) on route 27. If you didn't get the chance to ride it, it sounded EXACTLY like the CMT B10BLE/Renowns.
Not a pretty sound (in my opinion), I much preferred the Voiths.
