Here's the overall summary for buses over Christmas in the North West:
- 20th-23rd December: Weekday timetables with some services running a modified timetable. Warrington's Own Buses to run a "hybrid" Saturday timetable on 23rd December.
- Christmas Eve: Mainly weekday timetables with some services running a Saturday services. Services to stop running between 1800 and 2000.
- Christmas Day: Special services operated by Stagecoach in Merseyside on behalf of Merseytravel and on the 43 in Greater Manchester. No other services will operate.
- Boxing Day: Special timetables will operate on some services operated by Arriva, Stagecoach, Rotala (Diamond, Preston Bus), Go North West, Transdev in Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Chester and Lancashire. Sunday daytime services on Blackpool Transport services and First's Vantage V1/V2 services.
- 27th/28th December: Sunday timetables with some services running additional early morning journeys. Stagecoach Manchester services 143, 192, 219 and 330 will run a reduced service.
- 29th/30th December: Mainly a Saturday service. Stagecoach in Cheshire and Wirral will operate a weekday service, as well as TfGM contracted services and service 315 between Chorley and Southport. Warrington's Own Buses to operate a "hybrid" Saturday/Sunday service.
- New Year's Eve: Mainly a Saturday service (Stagecoach Cheshire/Wirral to run to weekday times, Warrington's Own Buses to run a hybrid Saturday/Sunday service) with most services to stop running between 1800 and 2000. Stagecoach will run a special evening and night service on the 42, 43, 86, 192 and 201 in Manchester.
- New Year's Day: Special services operated in Merseyside by Arriva/Stagecoach/Merseytravel and in Manchester by Stagecoach. Blackpool Transport will operate a Sunday daytime service. FreeBus in Manchester will run a Sunday service.
- 2nd/3rd January: Sunday timetables. Stagecoach Manchester services 143, 192, 219 and 330 will run a reduced service. Some services will run additional journeys will run on 3rd January.
- 4th January: Normal services resume.

You mentioned service 315 between Chorley & Southport. Do you mean the 347? This is the usual service between those two points. Service 315 runs between Ormskirk & Southport.
