They've always said six return journeys to/from Ashbourne and that is what there is, so pretty clear those will form the through journeys. The exception being the 1940 arrival at the VP, which doesn't logically form anything else, so must run dead back to depot. I've not seen anything official from Hulleys on the X1, only what's mentioned in TfGM and Derbyshire CC updates. That'll mean the X1 is a bit like the old 200 service in that it's OK if you have a daytime shift working at the airport or have a flight at a sociable hour but it won't serve the airport at some of the airport's busier hours. The airport is normally very busy between 6am and 8am. Quote:As for the route south of MIA, if the assumption is correct re the registration, it would be totally bizarre to by -pass/not stop in Wilmslow and throw away any potential patronage. Hardly commercially sensible. If someone based in an office in Baslow was tasked with drawing a route map then perhaps they thought it's relevant to include Alderley Edge as one of the main points on the map, as doing so confirms it's not routed via Prestbury. However, Wilmslow is close to both Alderley Edge and the Viewing Park so do all three need to be marked on a map for a long route? Looking at Google Maps it comes up with a 12.3 mile route if you select Macclesfield to the viewing park and you choose the route via Alderley Edge. That directs you down Beddels Lane and Hawthorne St in Wilmslow, so avoids the town centre but goes via the health centre Re-routing via Sainsbury's increases the length by just 0.2 miles and it avoids sending a bus down a residential road with lots of parked cars. It would seem common sense. If the X57 Sunday services to the viewing park extend as X1 as well then it would make even more sense for those to serve Wilmslow, given there is no Wilmslow to Macclesfield bus on Sundays. |
