That TT gives a good indication of what's happening with the X1. They've always said six return journeys to/from Ashbourne and that is what there is, so pretty clear those will form the through journeys. The exception being the 1940 arrival at the VP, which doesn't logically form anything else, so must run dead back to depot.
As for the route south of MIA, if the assumption is correct re the registration, it would be totally bizarre to by -pass/not stop in Wilmslow and throw away any potential patronage. Hardly commercially sensible.
