Chances are that TfGM will just introduce a service that will run along the old 396 route between Newton Heath and Hathershaw and then along the 409 route into Ashton. Probably would number it 419 as well Hammer.

It would be good if TfGM could find some underserved roads/routes and/or resurrect some previously withdrawn route sections. Looking at old bus maps from 10 years ago and there's not too much around the south Oldham area that has been lost: 151 route between Failsworth and Hollinwood, the Woodhouses loop on the 159 (no stops missed out though) or Drury Lane (only industrial premises and ex-MCT depot). There are a couple of stops on the old 395/396 route in Waterloo that are no longer served, if they wanted to re-route it that way into Ashton (but the wording suggested it'll be a direct route in/out of Ashton, so that probably won't happen).

If TfGM wanted to perhaps re-allocate some funding, they could perhaps withdraw the 183 (majority of the route is covered by the 76/76A and 149). Could re-route the 76A along the 183 between Limeside and Oldham, while the Oldham-Royal Oldham Hospital section is covered by the 149, 159, 403, 408 and 409.
