Greater Manchester Service Changes
RE: Greater Manchester service changes
Derbyshire County Council posting about the new X57 service from Sheffield to Manchester. Hulleys' existing 275 service is being re-numbered 257, which might suggest the two services will run on a common section of route between Sheffield and Ladybower. Sadly no timetable yet, to give us any details on routes, timetables and journey length/times.

Quote:From Monday 26 October 2020
Hulleys: Service 275 revised and renumbered 257.

New service X57 introduced to operate between Manchester and Sheffield via Glossop running approximately every 2 hours every day (Monday to Sunday) during the daytime.

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
Snake Pass is 2 hourly supplemented by the hourly short run Manchester to Glossop run off peak. I thought it was known about the service timetable a few days ago when the post was first put out.

Further service change next week according to a contact of mine at D&G sees their 288 service back running hourly again according to the duties that have gone up at Winchem.

Roughly hourly Mon-Fri between East Didsbury and Altrincham but some long gaps in the Airport section and also evening & Sunday service remaining suspended, while Saturday remains 2 hourly.

Weekday departures from Altrincham to the Airport: 06:46, 08:15, 09:16, 10:20, 11:20, 12:20, 13:20, 14:19, 16:34, 17:54.

Weekday departures to Altrincham from the Airport: 06:28, 07:09, 09:43, 10:43, 11:43, 12:43, 13:43, 14:40, 16:54

It means the first Altrincham to Airport service no longer connects with the first train from Chester unlike when it operated at around 07:10.

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
Intresting to see Transdev Rosso losing on of there B routes to Tyrers at end of October plus there is loads of other interesting changes mentioned in GMCA serving changes published on 11th September but we still not seeing any radical changes to services in the Oldham and Royton areas unlike this round where the investment is in around Bolton, Bury and Salford

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
There is no 08.15 departure to the Airport. The 08.15 goes to The Grammar school and Lorrettos school. So there is a huge gap between 06.46 and 09.16.

Works for me

Timetable now on Derbyshire County Council website. Similar detail to what was provided by Hulley's on their Facebook page.

The 130 extension to Wythenshawe will be short-lived. TfGM, D&G Bus & Cheshire East Council stating that the service will be curtailed to run between Handforth and Macclesfield only from next Monday (5 October). Service will now be funded by Cheshire East Council with a Saturday service re-introduced.

Quote:130
Macclesfield - Alderley Edge - Wilmslow - Wythenshawe
From: 5 October
Macclesfield – Wythenshawe
Run by D&G Bus. Route changed to run between Handforth and Macclesfield only, no longer serving Greater Manchester.

Quote:From 5th October service 130 will be operated by D&G Bus under contract to Cheshire East Council, who have chosen to make some changes to the route and timetable.

Bus times will be changed and there will be a more frequent service between Macclesfield and Handforth with buses at busy times operating via Alderley Park.

Buses will also be reintroduced on Saturdays, running every two hours. This will provide an hourly frequency between Macclesfield, Broken Cross, Henbury and Monks Heath with service 88.

We regret that the new service will not serve Wythenshawe. Buses will terminate in Handforth at the junction of Wilmslow Road and Spath Lane.
