Finglands
Finglands compete with Stagecoach on some south Manchester routes, especially along the Wilmslow Road, such as on the 42. They also run some evening or Sunday services such as routes 16 and 197.

Finglands are taking some former Go-Ahead London PVLs (Volvo B7TL-Presidents) to replace Olympians. An example is 1805 (former London PVL278), which I rode last Monday and has been refurbished.

RE: Finglands
I have lost count of how many Olympians remain in service. I don't recall noticing any on Monday, which admittedly was a Bank Holiday.

RE: Finglands
I had a Finglands Farewell Special alongside Metrolink extensions and First buses in the area.

I rode 1761 and 1803, changing buses at Wilmslow Road, Finglands bus depot! As 1803 was refurbished with new moquette, I was pleased that 1761 was not refurbished, for variety.

I also saw an MPD on route 19 and an Enviro300 on route 99.

Peter Shipp said the other week in Bus & Coach Week that, should the OFT not sanction the purchase of Finglands by First, he may have to close it down. The announcement is due on January 27th, so Finglands will surely be gone before Easter.
