So management want to reduce costs, so bring in 12 year old, fuel guzzling non standard buses... Any logic?

I can see the sense here, The B7s need to go, might as well bring spare buses in from another Opco, once there's a number of them there not exactly non standard. Even then parts can be transfered with the buses, no greater expense in the eyes of the group.

Don`t think it will be only one being sent as there was a number of them on Crusader" services that are now double-deck. DNW like them too with the ones from yourbus

Diamond liking Citaros has absolutely no bearing on Go North West acquiring them as well

My point is they are great work horses and since 1999 they been used at Bolton / Bury / QR / Oldham so the fitters know how to care for them yes they are newer but most of the body work is same and have track record in North Manchester. so any manager if offered one would want them over buses they don't know.

RE: Go North West
Been reported they are looking at taking 23 Citaros with NK08 CHN not going into service with GNW but being used to test if the 23 Citaros that been offered would be right for QR

The fact Citaros have operated in Manchester before is also completely irrelevant

If Go North West choose to acquire them then it'll be because they decide the Citaro is a suitable vehicle type for their operations. Nothing else will have any bearing on whatever decision is reached

GNW / First / GMN / GMbuses you will find not much changes at QR you may get a new manager but systems and way of thinking stay the same. like how you park up buses and driver rotas and even at xmas they dont change what been done in past without thinking how come it not been done in past. as it the same drivers / supervisors / fitters / office staff things dont change with a new owner as fast as you may think. the odd system will change but you don't change what working. Citaro have been used on most services at QR and they can talk to drivers and fitters about them in the past and maybe the person who gets to pick is someone who worked at First when they had them.

the Citaro used to often be used on 97 and 98
