Metroline - looks like you were very much on my old turf.- I used to live in Lewisham in the late 80s and then moved to Beckenham. I worked in the M&S food store just round the corner from Beck Jct when it opened in 1992. I recall the local buses were mainly Titans with some London Country rebuilt Nationals in those days.

RE: Bus-Related Outings & Reviews
I lived in london in the 70s and 80s, and still go back typically 3 times a year to ride buses in central London or an area of outer London I haven't explored for a while. My last Titan ride in London was on route 136 on 8.11.99, and the London Country Nationals you recall SNL may have been on route P4 at the time. (My most recent Tital ride was a GTL example, possibly route 19, on 10.8.02 btw).

RE: Bus-Related Outings & Reviews
I published an oddball blog post this morning about a recent trip to London, Brighton and Worthing with fellow forum member LJ51 DDA. I was trying to keep it as interesting as possible without delving into every little arty farty detail so some parts may be a little brief. Anyway I hope you enjoy the read! http://www.thenorthwestbusblog.co.uk/201...liday.html

RE: Bus-Related Outings & Reviews
I had a pleasant evening jaunt earlier tonight. I took the 5.30 22 from Parkgate to Heswall and had planned on connecting on the 113 to Thornton Hough, grabbing a pint or two in the Seven Stars, and then returning on the 487. However, when I got to Heswall, I noticed the Johnny Pye has a beer festival this weekend, so I decided to catch the later 113 instead.

Two firsts for me - first time I've been to a beer festival on the site of a former bus depot - first time I've been the first person into a beer festival.

If you're in the area over the weekend give it a try, they kick off at midday each day, 20 ales, live music, ashes on sky, really friendly people, and proceeds in aid of Claire House Children's Hospice.

I sampled Pedigree, Gulper, Mansfield, Boondogle, and Ashes ale - all excellent.

As for the buses, Avon MCV, A2B Enviro200, and Arriva Pulsar. Really friendly and helpful service from the A2B driver. Muppetry from Arriva - see the Birkenhead thread.

I also went over to Rhyl today to have a ride on the ex-Crosville Olympian. Used a North Wales rover. I came back on the 1504 from Abergele to Shotton which was a pair of 150s - didn't note which ones though.

All the trains I was on today comprised of ATW 150s, but I did note two different styles of interior - are some of the units ex-First stock?
