RE: Dublin & Ireland
The repainting has now extended to the EV (Enviro 400) and GT (B9TL - Wrights) Classes.
I have yet to see the EVs.

The first part of the Bus Connects plan starts on the 27th of June - This is the H spine to Howth, Baldoyle and Malahide. Info and Timetables etc here:
https://www.transportforireland.ie/h-spine/

This Spine is relatively straightforward as it parallels the DART lines to Malahide and Howth. The core section will have 8 buses an hour, though this is more over sections. The next phase will be the C spine to the west.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
I thought the initial idea was just to have the most environmentally friendly vehicles in mainly green livery. Now it seems this is becoming standard across the fleets.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
Sorry for not getting back to you, computer issues.

Yes it seems the whole fleet will be repainted. The GTs are not a surprise, but the EVs are, they are a bit tired inside, but then they were always rattley buses. The VTs (triaxle/ E500) unfortunately wont be painted.

Advertising has appeared on the buses for the H Spine.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
More good stuff again Redstar and the green livery is growing on me although always liked the Dublin Bus identity more.

Just curious do these vehicles just have TFI branding on them now or do they have Dublin Bus/Go Ahead on them still?

Thanks again hope to do a Dublin trip again when all this Covid stuff settles down - I hope, cheers.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
Thanks for the comments. The new livery is spreading very fast. The PA class have started to take over Route 4. Meanwhile in Galway there are up to 15 of the 26 PADs (same as the Dublin PAs) in service, so Galway will be going green very quick.
All TFI buses have the logos on both sides with only the operator name on the left hand side. It makes the right side and front very plain. There are 53 VDL double deck coaches on the way and they look fabulous in the new livery.

I stayed in town after work this evening to photograph some of the routes before they vanish tomorrow. I was having a disastrous time with the destinations vanishing. Picture of an EV class in the new livery, these look well in it:

EV16 Talbot St 25 June 2021 - As the 31B only operates on weekdays, it is now finished and will be replaced with Route 6.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
Good evening, the H Spine started today, seems to have been well organised, bus stops in place, timetables in their cases and buses were properly prepared. 'Brand Ambassadors' were handing out leaflets at the stops. I only took a few pictures, hoped to spend a day at it tomorrow but not sure due to car issues. Oh well.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
Took a spin on new route 6 today, well worth a trip if you want to travel along the Howth Road along the Coast. Not the quickest way to Howth but certainly scenic.

Also took short spin on the 17 from Blackrock to Dundrum. This is one of the orbital routes which operates on the Southside from Blackrock Station to Rialto. A busy route in normal times and is currently operated by Go Ahead Ireland, generally using B5TLs but B9TLs also appear.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
The PA class are slowly entering service, on the other hand most of the 26 PAD class in Galway are in service. I hope to get a spin to Galway soon.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
It was very hot in the city today, but I managed to get a few interesting pictures:
LX19 North Wall Quay 17 July 2021 - One of 30 of this new class. They are meant to be used on southern, south west and western Expressway services, so a bit rare to see one in Dublin on the X8. However, due to Bus Éireann's run down expressway fleet, anything is possible. They are going about vehicle shortages in a two pronged manner, buying these new coaches and cutting a number of routes. The X1 to Belfast was jointly operated with Translink, that is no longer the case as BÉ gave up, the X12/ 12 Dublin to Limerick is gone, the X20 Dublin to Galway is going (to be replaced by Aircoach) and the route in the picture, the X8 is rumoured to be about to be replaced with a PSO route - 245X operated by new VDL double deck coaches - strange how things work out, that this new bus is due to be replaced on this run by something newer!

Arty shot.

162D15010 Custom House 17 July 2021 - one of many of these coaches operated by Aircoach, however it includes the new logo which is being rolled out. Not sure if I like it.

GT159 Nassau St 17 July 2021 - I am not a fan of bohs(!), I see this bus nearly every day and everywhere, usually on the 9 but it does wander and the 67 brings it well off its usual track.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
More green and yellow buses to show you all, these are Hydrogen powered and apparently cost €800,000 each! I took a spin on the 105X operated by Bus Éireann, not too bad, very quiet, but the Wrights rattle is still there! Different type of destination display in use.
