Just three units left now with the original interior, and one of these is being done this week: 507017, 508111 and 508136.

I was on 508111 a couple of weeks ago and was thinking there can't be many units left with the old interior. It's a pity the floors haven't been replaced as there's one example (507018) I can think of that has a bubbled and cracked floor in at least one area. It seems a shame to refresh the interiors but not replace the flooring at the same time

The refresh was only meant as a stopgap measure so they decided to do just enough to make them look presentable until the new trains arrive .

I don't think bubbled and cracked floors are presentable personally

Not really - it just looks untidy in my opinion

There lies the problem , anything that needs attention will get done as they need to keep the fleet at a certain level but no further cosmetic work after these three units will be done .

We are marching towards the new fleet ever quicker , what is the next mile stone for the new fleet ?

The LCR votes any day now to pass the resolution authorising the purchase (which is just a formality) and the anniuncement of what we are getting from the winning bidder will be made towards the end of the year.

I am getting quite excited now about what we are going to get. The funny thing is when yiu read through the consultation document what people conplained most about was the heating!

Unfortunately someone has been hit by a train between Hoylake and Manor Road this afternoon, trains currently starting from Birkenhead North.
