RE: JPT Bus Company
Sad really, but I did say to myself it wouldn't last long.

Thanks,
Liam Moskwin.

RE: JPT Bus Company
From what I've heard, it is because JPT are wanting to focus their efforts on the Moston Lane corridor.

But there again it would be fair to say they'd say anything to make them look less daft wouldn't they... Wink

Thanks,

RE: JPT Bus Company
JPT should really look at the 8 manchester - bolton its another major route going to bolton that would take JPT to a new town and would make their day/weekly tickets worth more thats my idea but am sure people have their ideas as well

RE: JPT Bus Company
Since First barely rake anything in on the 8... They need their own network instead of taking bites out of the big boys...

Thanks,
Liam Moskwin.

RE: JPT Bus Company
True but it makes no sense why they do a route that's identical to that which is operated by a larger company. Why not start their Manchester services up as a 19 from Boarshaw or Chadderton Burnley Lane or something, then to Middleton then to Manchester? There's potential for a better high frequency for those areas that don't already have one and also still that competing link on the corridor they are targetting. They also need to give more opportunity in regards to areas that they go to and actually have a decent expansive network, otherwise people will turn to those operators that already do go to more areas. There's so much that needs to be done to run a bus company that is successful against such a competitive market.

Thanks,
Liam Moskwin.

RE: JPT Bus Company
thats all true but JPT just seem to like taking other companys passengers put it this way at least they not going after all the tenders like HTL and Maytree have maybe one day they will start doing their own routes from point A to point B as like all managers they aint going to be there forever and managers do different things

RE: JPT Bus Company
I expected the 17 to be removed from their network. It is a shame because as soon as they entered the route First offered the £2.50 Daysaver and turned ultra reliable on the route (pre-road works). As First pretty much matched fares and offered double the frequency with bigger and more modern vehicles then noone had much incentive to go on JPT, I certainly ddin't want to get on a tiny Enviro 200 with people coughing all over me.

Of course JPT obviously have to compete on almost every commercial route they operate, but replicating major companies routes seemed dangerous. Maybe they should have gone down Hollin Lane and then up Bolton Road then up to Rochdale.

As mentioned earlier Borshaw seems like a possibililty, route 64 is hardly an ideal link to Manchester, or potentially the Cheetham Hill Road corridoor has some opporunities.

RE: JPT Bus Company
it is hard for any company in manchester, maybe for a new route a middleton - trafford centre route or an express service to manchester from middleton but i dont think new routes are on their way yet
