EMR to be the first UK train operator to trial GPS ticketing. https://www.theguardian.com/business/202...s-tracking As someone who does hiking I'm curious how this will work. For instance, I recently bought a single from Rugeley Trent Valley to Hednesford and walked back through the forest. I've also walked between Greenbank and Hartford stations. It might come up with some interesting fares if it thinks I've travelled Knutsford-Chester-Runcorn-Hartford, when I infact travelled Knutsford-Greenbank and then walked. |
