Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
RE: Stagecoach Manchester
I must admit I'm not sure about the colour scheme on the ex-Bluebird Solo vehicle. I was also a bit unsure on the re-paints of the B7RLEs at Wigan, but that has grown on me a bit. Although, I do prefer this livery re-paint on one of the B7RLEs at Chester

Meanwhile, another Bluebird re-paint has appeared on the My Manchester blog. This time, it's one of the Evolutions (ex Bluebird 96/Stagecoach 33874).

Thanks for those links SF07. That B7 looks so much better, it's just a shame it's going to be an odd one out amongst a batch painted, regretfully, in the Enviro300 paint scheme. Even without the swoops, they'd have looked better with the indicator cluster left white on the others but alas.

The Evolution on the other hand, looks very smart in that version of the livery. Certainly suits it much better than the Wrights do!

that Eclipse looks very smart, again with the MCV - Why carnt they keep the blue the same height at the front as the sides? - are they using work experience people to paint them or is someone just not giving a dam?

Cost cutting?

So White paint's 3p a tin cheaper than Blue then LOLLOL

no,i think when they did the blue livery - they still painted the front white as an undercoat,i remember seeing a East Lancs Volvo Ex Tracky half way repainted & it looked like this version at the front,so i think instead of painting it white then blue, there just leaving it white

I think the B7RLE 21237 looks really nice. That's how it should be. But again, what an awful mess they've made of the evolution, and all for the sake of a bit of blue paint.

Makes sense from a cost point of view then, but it looks awful.

For those interested, the intended allocation of the ex Wigan B9TL Gemini's at Fife is as follows: Aberhill 16950-3, Glenrothes 16954-6, and Cowdenbeath 16957-9.
The first entered service this afternoon on service 95, although not sure if it was 16952 or 16953. However both should be available for service tomorrow.

Hopefully they'll have a better repaint than half of our newly inherited fleet. :\
