The difference between them is Arriva have a Wirral day saver for £4 which is valid in Wirral but is also valid all the way to Chester on the 1 & 2 services, whereas the Stagecoach Wirral & Liverpool £4 ticket is valid in Wirral but also in Liverpool (where the Arriva Wirral one is not valid).

How complicated to try and explain to a passenger , the companies dont do themselves any favours having day ticket prices the same with differing validities , but thats the major groupings for you.
