I can definitely remember it running into Liverpool by the Summer of 1989, and possibly for a while before that. By January 1990, the service frequency had increased to every 20 minutes. I think the Halton 14 was intoduced by 1992.

Can anybody recall the routes operated by the various North Western Runcorn - Liverpool services? There seemed to be so many variations back then. IIRC, the X4 ran via Cronton, the M62 and then along Edge Lane.
