Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot
RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot
They're probably short due to a higher than normal amount of buses off the road rather than not having enough buses allocated... Remember they don't want loads of spares buses sitting around all day because buses arnt paying for themselves parkdd up

LS just seem to end up with more loans than anybody else, although in this case the commander wasn't a loan of course.

Saint Helens said they needed a decker, 4200 is the oldest at Laird St hence it going. They wouldn't take 4001 or 4002. You say they shouldn't have given a decker away so why did St Helens give two away to Speke?

Is that not because there driving staff had already driven vehicles similar to 4200 before and 4001 or 4002 would have been something different .

I would of preferred 4001 or 4002 as 4200 is sluggish to hell and struggles with the passenger loads on the 10's as i had it yeasterday on me 10 and made me about 10-15 mins late due to lack of speed.

Every time I have had 4200 on the 10 drivers have been trying to get it going by really putting their foot down but not a lot really seems to happen. Wasn't there a couple of LS's Gems that were off road for a bit due to them being dangerously slow a year or so ago.

It was mainly 4200 that was off the road because it was getting too slow. I had a pleasant journey on it last Saturday to Page Moss, wasn't going too fast either then. I have been on it flat out when it was used on the 420.

Got a shot of 4200 on Lime Street early afternoon http://www.flickr.com/photos/dmc1947/15758342847/

I find 4200 deeply unpleasant. I'm a fan of the 'VLW' but that particular one is rubbish. People seem to like it for the fact it's the first one. 4201 was also black listed for being dangerously slow. I was on 4200 a few nights ago. It banged in gear, made lots of notice without going anywhere and had a shoddy suspension.
