Early ANE repaints featured that style of Cowhorn. Given their age, hopefully they'll be repainted at some point to match the rest of the fleet (the other 'early' repaints will be withdrawn soon).

RE: Arriva North East
It's mostly because we standardised on the old style swirl from the old livery up until 2009 when the first batch of Pulsars arrived. Rather than moving the cream swirl forward and then creating the cowhorn from the front, we would cheapen it by taking the second line of the cowhorn from the front making it very wide and straight at the bottom and going through the wheel arch.

For example, we painted our now withdrawn Europeans from this http://www.flickr.com/photos/jncarter196...otostream/ to this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...y_2009.JPG whereas the Midlands ones were the same with the larger swirl like this http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4007/44882...f672_z.jpg but then painted it into the new style (like it should be) to this http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6058/62836...dbd3_z.jpg by bringing the cowhorn forward.
