RE: Merseyrail
Looks most likely that the new Maghull North station will be getting built in 2017 as I was told by a Cumfybus driver yesterday. He said that he had been informed that route 133 will be rerouted to serve the new station. It will no longer serve the Bootle Arms in Melling or Poverty Lane instead it will be routed up past the Pear Tree and past Ashworth Hospital into the new station and then via Foxhouse Lane and Eastway.

RE: Merseyrail
Is there enough time already in the timetable on the ormskirk line services already or will there have to be some slight retimings of arrival and departure times at ormskirk when Maghull North opens .

Be interesting to see if they slightly retime services when the station opens although in my experience if a service is currently on time towards Liverpool Central it currently stands for a minute or two at Maghull and sometimes Kirkdale as well

According to Merseytravel trains will have to be retimed and one additional unit will be needed.

Well there are timing changes coming later in the year for the Wirral so possibly the Northern lines may be done at the same time

RE: Merseyrail
Presently there is approximately 7 minutes at Ormskirk between arrival and departure , fit in another 1 or 2 minute's for the stop at Maghull North , that brings it down to 6 mins maybe even 5 mins , you now getting into the realms of the PPM headache you have on the Chester line with a 6 minute turnaround and the chaotic scenes over there with cancellations and limited stop running.

Limited Stop running at the present on happens on Chester - Liverpool and Hunts Cross - Southport and vice versa.

That's interesting, do you know details of what's changing on the Wirral line, but quite some time since they were last changed

RE: Merseyrail
As you say N271CKB , the last Wirral line change was to change the times around on the Chester and Ellesmere Port services.

I would love there to be some extra time given at Chester , but unfortunately with only platform 7 electrified and platform space at a severe premium during the day now , cant see very major changes during the daytime .

RE: Merseyrail
As far as I know an extra circuit on the Chester line with an increased turnaround time at Chester. (The hourly Arriva Wales to Manchester service to in future use platform 4 at Chester)
Retimings on the Ellesmere Port and West Kirby lines and a couple of the peak time extras stopped.
I've yet to see the diagrams so haven't a clue how it will work.
