The unit stopped at the scene was not involved in the incident , but im led to believe was examining the line .

It was involved in the incident, whilst working the first train out of Southport that morning

RE: Merseyrail
All Merseyrail services into/out of Southport have been suspended since 13:28.

Trains starting from Hillside due to a signalling problem (track circuit failure) (IC).

Northern Rail unaffected at present, so long as Platform 4 is not used.

Travel is glamorous only in retrospect.

RE: Merseyrail
onboard 507002 yesterday first time since the day before the crash. the unit was packed of people returning from goodison park and liverpool city centre i boarded at Bootle NS the train was packed to sardines we were quite late after being so busy with the doors unable to close on the first carriage. nice sound and driving. 507002 and 507021 seem to be the only units with the golden spot lights left.

RE: Merseyrail
I don't know, but it will need completely new vynals, they stripped it down to its pre 2003 livery when they "wrapped" it. A pic can be seen on Merseyrail's Twitter page.

RE: Merseyrail
Both advertising liveries had the units stripped down to their base layer before the advertising vinyls were applied, so 507002 and 508111 will need a full set of silver and yellow vinyls when the time comes to return them to normal.

The promotion for 508111 expired in October last year but they seem to want to continue it in service for considerably longer, which is nice to see as it wears an attractive livery.

RE: Merseyrail
i think they want to see how well the vinyl's for the advertisements last compared to the normal livery .

If and when the new trains come on stream will these be vinyl or two pack paint.
