RE: Merseyrail
508143 has been in the wars alongside 508139 and 507002 over the years .

RE: Merseyrail
I don't mind 114, its a bit boring, but I don't mind it. 136 is a shed I agree.

I wonder if 507002's fault is to do with the de-railed motor coach... It has been making a MK3 esque whining noise from the bogies since it came back from Kilmarnock and Donny.

RE: Merseyrail
507002 was back in service this evening and transferred ECS to the Northern Line alongside 507018 at around 20.00.

That red light AFAIK means "Not To Be Moved". It could have been something minor, but in wake of events at Kirkdale depot a few years back, I think it is more than necesarry to follow all procedures.

RE: Merseyrail
The Kirkby line was down for a couple of hours this afternoon during which time services were diverted via the Ormskirk line to Aintree. From there, a replacement bus operated to Kirkby via Fazakerley. This allowed Orrell Park the unusual distinction of having four additional trains per hour for no real reason - the Kirkby trains could easily have ran through without stopping. Stops at Walton were more understandable as an alternative to Rice Lane.

RE: Merseyrail
My thoughts exactly! I was on a diverted Kirkby, I suppose it's less confusion for passengers if its stops at Orrell Park, as passengers might have boarded for Orrell Park at any of the previous stations.

507015 was brought off Kirkdale Depot this afternoon, and 508141 seen entering Kirkdale at 1150.

508139 also on Kirkdale, usually stays on the Wirral Line.

RE: Merseyrail
508139 was on West Kirby line this evening too... I think it replaced 508122 or the dire 507018

RE: Merseyrail
Came off Kirkdale at about 1645 to head to West Kirby. It replaced 508122, which had brake issues.

RE: Merseyrail
With regards to trains non-stopping Orrell Park, I've seen the merseyrail twitter feed claim that the concession with merseytravel does not allow them to run semi-fast services... How true that is though, I can't say.

A few incidents today: 507019 was gapped this morning coming off Kirkdale around 7am and had to be assisted back onto the depot, causing a few cancellations. This afternoon an MPV failed temporarily at Leeds St bank heading towards Liverpool, and was then stored in the reversing siding at Central. It then ran off the network back to Wigan via Hunts Cross. I'm guessing they didn't want to risk it failing again running up the gradient at Leeds St...
