The two units in question had been moved outside Birkenhead North TMD by 10.00, presumably for inspection and repair.

Noted 507013 back in service today for the first time since overhaul. It still has an RSK tag at one end that seems to have been there for years, and the missing 'M' at one end has not been replaced during overhaul. Poor.

I do hate seeing units with graffiti on however big or small as it makes the units look untidy , some operators seem to have a strict policy when it comes to Graffiti that the unit needs cleaning ASAP , it may be exaccerbated by the use of vinyl's instead of paint though.

I do agree. It's odd because 013 looks like its side Ms have been replaced. I don't understand why they ignore front and side Ms for the most part which look just as tatty when they're missing. There is a photo of mine from 2009 with the RSK there so it's been there for over three years. A full revinyl of the entire fleet (except the four former CoC units and 002/111) is required as some I noted yesterday were simply disgraceful. 507010, 507017, 508110, 508141 and 508143 were the five that stood out. The graffiti damage is painfully obvious.

Merseyrail website and twitter suggests everything is running at present.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.

RE: Merseyrail
The service for what on paper was a dire prediction of absolute meltdown has actually been not bad .

Services this morning were running about 8 mins late at tops .

There was also during late morning a signaling defect in the underground , but that was not weather related so , merseyrail got way with this , more than can be said fore some of the other tain operating companies around the country .

RE: Merseyrail
There was a lone 6 car traversing the Southport line today, composed of 507010 + 508120 and sandwiched between 507001 and 507009 in the rotation. Unfortunately, it missed most of the evening traffic, not passing through Central in the Southport direction until 18.53. Meanwhile, 508123, which operated the 17.23 from Central to Southport, coincided with the football fans and was severely overcrowded from Sandhills. More needs to be done with regards to football traffic. On a more positive note, everything I saw was running to time, which is encouraging.

RE: Merseyrail
507009 you may find that is one of the route provers from overnight that they have kept in formation .

Probably during the course of the bad weather Network Rail and Merseyrail will run route provers on both the Northern and Wirral lines to ensure that the third rail only has a minimum amount of time for ice to form on it .

The country sections of the Merseyrail network are always prone to icing.

Known sections are between Hall Road to Ainsdale , Old Roan to Aughton Park , Eastham Rake to Bache .
