That's also right regarding the carriages - 64426 has been renumbered 64588 as part of 314203's formation and has a unique experimental interior. 64388 retains its original number and is the "B" car of 507004, replacing the written off 64370. There are a few photos around the web of 507022 during its service days. A pic of 64370 at Glasgow works...note part of the corner at the far end is missing, also 71363 just visible, and if you look through the cab window of the NSE DMU in front, seems that half the cab of 64370 is missing as there is only daylight visible! http://www.flickr.com/photos/67444577@N02/7243659128/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/dmc1947/ |

It is Llandudno Junction carriage sheds, the pic is off my Flickr site, taken by my Dad! Thanks for confirmation of the location folks. The caption is slightly misleading as it says 507022 at St Rollox, but as mentioned, the nearest coach to the camera is 64370, which was in 507004 |

Its probably a unit that is on a low mileage diagram that is sent to do the work. |

The 16.43 Southport - Hunts Cross was short-formed again last evening (Tuesday 13/11) in disappointing circumstances. It's always a tight manoeuvre to get these to couple in time for departure, with a window of just 6 minutes assuming the 15.36 from Hunts Cross runs on time. On this occasion it was formed of 508136 and ran 3 minutes late out of Hightown, remaining as late until Hillside where the caption boards showed they'd given up on running it as a pair. We were barely two minutes late into Southport in the end with easily enough time to couple the two, but no, 508136 went into platform 1 with 508117 left to take up the service on its own from platform 2. Yet more needless overcrowding caused by a lackadaisical attitude to passenger comfort. On a much more positive note, I understand all of the vinyl "nameplates" featured on Merseyrail units are to be replaced with the vastly superior metal examples already seen on 507023/033. This will include 507004 "Bob Paisley", 507009 "Dixie Dean", 507020 "John Peel" (like assuming recent newspaper allegations are not substantiated) and 507021 "Red Rum". There appears to be a chance plates will also be ordered for two since removed names, "Capital of Culture" and "Cllr George Howard", although I would think both are unlikely. "The Beatles", "William Roscoe" and "Harold Wilson" nameplates are also yet to appear, but hopefully we'll see them soon.

The first train to ormskirk which leaves central at 06:10 was short formed this morning bet that got packed on its return journey from ormskirk back to liverpool seems to be a lot of short formations going on at the moment are any units out of service apart from 507012 at the mo? |

If the leaf fall season goes on for much longer there will be more trains out of service . Just to give you an idea am there was 7 units of service and pm there was 8 units of service yesterday. I suspect that is more than normal. |
