RE: Merseyrail
No Class 777s working today due to the need for them to undergo maintenance.
As a result of the 507/508s having to cover the Ormskirk line, there was planned cancellations on the New Brighton line (although most in the morning managed to run until a unit failed on the West Kirby line and a New Brighton unit was used to replace it) and no service to Fazakerley on the Kirkby line.

Does anyone know if this is likely to be the case tomorrow and into next week?

Maintenance isn’t something that removes a whole fleet of trains from service. The Silence is deafening from Merseyrail and Rotheram

RE: Merseyrail
Three more 777s are arriving in the UK on Wednesday.
Two will go forward from Warrington to Kirkdale on Wednesday night, the other on Thursday. They are 777150 and two 777/0s

Update: 777150 and 777017 were the two units that came up to Kirkdale tonight

Move was booked to recess overnight at Crewe South Yard but seems to have disappeared at Shrewsbury.

Apparently the train split at Shrewsbury so it stayed there

777011 came up from Warrington tonight.
This means that 001 to 018 are now here, along with 036, 049, 140, 142, 144, 146, 148 & 150.
Almost half of the 53 fleet are now on Merseyside.

Any sign of the roll out picking up pace?

Is there a particular reason why the Liverpool Central to Fazakerley shuttle service always seems to be worked by a class 507/508?

They’ve been taken out of service with software issues over the last week or so, and they’re slowly coming back into service now. With the driver training as well, we’ve been short of 777s for passenger service an so some 507/8s have been used.

RE: Merseyrail
Quite a rare occurrence with a 6 car out on the Chester line last night.
It appears two 3 cars coupled together at Chester, upon the reduction of the service to the 30 min evening frequency.
Any particular reason why?
It seems a similar case next Saturday as well?
