The Economy
RE: The Economy
It seems that the co-operative bank has been downgraded by the Ratings agency Moody.

It seems a lot of there troubles seem to stem from the takeover of the Brittania Building Society in 2009 and not the recent attempt to purchase some of the LloydsTSB branches .

That's ok then. If it stems from 2009 Gideon can blame the last Labour government if the Co- op goes t**s-up.

RE: The Economy
Data from the ONS now suggests that the UK economy never went into a double dip recession after all .

Seems like the Office of National Statistics has made a mistake in its calculations . They do say when the statistics are done that there is a margin of error .

Phew, that's alright then. Everything is blooming in the UK economy, just looks like we're are sliding towards economic oblivion, and all the empty shops are a mere mirage.

Probably Gordon Brown's fault in the first place, anyway.

He was in power when the World sort of went into meltdown in the late 00's .

It happened with Labour , they couldnt stop it , it still continuing under the Conservatives they cant stop it either , we will come out of it when the Economy thinks we have enough downsizing .

Ther problem we have at the moment is that national government doesn't want to spend money , local government cant spend any money and us mere mortals don't seem to want spend any money at the moment , until that spiral is changed nothing is going to change .

For many of use mere mortals its a case of not having the money to spend. My income has reduced every tax year during this government, yet the amount of tax ive paid has gone up.

Don't forget only those with an income of over £100,000 a year have seen their tax go down under this govt, so are we supposed to look to them to spend their windfall in the decimated local high streets, Or will they 'invest' it in tax avoidance scams?

Somehow I suspect little if any will trickle down into UK plc rather than be salted away in a trust fund in a secretive tax haven.

RE: The Economy
As I have said before, austerity is ideological. It's all a ploy to shrink the state and when the government claims that so many jobs have been created in the private sector, remember a good proportion of these have been stolen from the Public Sector. It's not a recession, it's a robbery - when will the country wake up to this fact.

And the overwhelming majority of these 'new' jobs are on the national minimum wage, and even that is under threat from the mad dog wing of the Tories and the ultra-Tories in UKIP.
