If 350264 gets scrapped, will LM replace it?

Based on posts from Tony Miles (from Modern Railways) on wnxx it seems LM have rejected the option of taking on additional 319s to replace the damaged out-of-service 350 (due to the 319s being too unreliable) but are looking at a temporary 100mph loco-hauled option.

There are of course 10 x 350s going off lease when TPE get new trains and that's the only way LM can get more 350s with the 350 being an archaic design now Siemens won't build anymore. (Except if they take on a 360 or 450 and convert it to a 350.)

RE: London Midland
Why send it to Germany for scrapping.
It'll most likely be going to Siemens for repairs that only the manufacturer can do!

If it's like the Scotrail 156 that got stuck in a flooded track it may have been written off by the insurers but a third party has purchased it from them in to hope to repair it or salvage usable parts.

One idea I had in mind, yesterday, is that LM should get the 10x class 350/4 from TPE and take some class 450 and convert it into class 350 since I think some class 450 could be replaced by class 707. From here, LM will have a HOMOGENEOUS fleet. The class 360 could go to Northern since class 360 and class 319 have the same seat configuration that is 3+2 seating.

Arriva have agree to lease 27 x 319s, 43 x 331s and 16 x 333s until the end of the franchise. They don't seem to have an option for additional EMUs on top of that - only mention is of 36 additional diesel carriages by 2022, so it's unlikely they'll be any chance of taking on an additional type of EMU especially considering the CP6 electrification aspirations will probably be pushed back to CP7 with the CP5 projects behind schedule.

RE: London Midland
3+2 seating is one of the most hated seating configurations , when you look at trains on the 3 side of the train how many times do you find that middle seat never taken up because of the cramp nature of the seating.

You are behind the times. 156478 has been back in service with Scotrail for about three weeks.

All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles

I was meaning that could be the current situation for the damaged 350.
