One of the Ormskirk six car formations was used between the peaks today, with 507014 and 508124 working the 14.55 Liverpool Central - Ormskirk service together.

RE: Merseyrail
Another morning of disruption on the northern line this morning due to a failed train at Sandhills. I was getting mixed messages about the reason for yesterdays disruption first i was told it was a points failure at Walton then a signal failure at Sandhills and thirdly an overrun of weekend engineering works i was stuck at Maghull for two hours as the first replacement bus to arrive for Ormskirk wouldnt let anymore passengers on as it was already full. Not a good week for Merseyrail this week. |

All the information screens at stations were down for a while earlier |

RE: Merseyrail
Tuesday's disruption was caused by a failed train coming to stand half in half out of the reversing siding , therefore Sandhills only had one platform for use , severely hampering operations , whilst set was recovered . |

RE: Merseyrail
Noticed today that 507017 appears to have a window frame taken from a Class 315 unit prior to their refurbishment. It has one of those 'open for extra ventilation' stickers on the opening window, something I don't believe the 507s have ever had, plus a no smoking sticker on the opening window glass. I assume when the 315s had their window frames replaced circa 2004-07, they were retained for spares use in other PEP-derived classes. Previously, I've seen a 507 with an NSE moquette guard's seat and a 508 with Arriva's original arches moquette (possibly on 508126). They've collected a few odd parts over the years!
