Prior to deregulation, the MPTE ordered about 70 new double-deckers per year. After many, many years of having to endure overcrowded single-deckers, I wonder how long it will be before we return to a fleet that is 80% double decker on Merseyside? At this rate, hopefully not too long.

At this rate Arriva could soon have more double-deckers than single-deckers in Liverpool!

There will always be a place for single deckers in the fleet , otherwise you will be running some routes with more fresh air than passengers .
