Not sure what that means - could OFT overturn it?

http://www.route-one.net/issues/536/index.html#/12/

Also what would Stagecoach want with the vehicles? Most of them are heaps of junk held together with duct tape. They must have better in reserve I would have thought.

One final thought, I wonder if the TC will be taking an interest in the management of JPT given the way that things happened.
Read the article too, I suspect most of the vehicles will be scrapped or maybe a few used short term before being stripped for spares and then scrapped, maybe the 2 Enviro 300s will be kept, nearly everything else is non-DDA compliant.(Is anything leased?)
Stagecoach will have had professional legal advice, I suspect they are being 'The good guys' at least in the eyes of TfGM, keeping services running and taking on the staff under TUPE.
As others have said the supported routes are only short term and will be re-tendered.
If the Oft or whatever they are called these days, tried to overrule this, what happens to the staff?

It's the CMA now. If they do stick their oar in and order the divestment of the business (which Stagecoach clearly don't expect to happen), then the JPT staff will move with the assets to the new buyer.

Presumably they have given them all fleet numbers for 'paper' reasons only. I really carnt see some of the above vehicles working in Manchester under Stagecoach.

RE: JPT Bus Company - MPTE1955 - 30/04/2014 20:10

431,432 & 433 have all gone back to their former stagecoach numbers, not all that long since Stagecoach sold them really.

That is correct Mayneway, they are only for reference purposes at the moment. They haven't physically been applied

So 41 vehicles acquired (incidentally I believe a number of support vehicles are included), we know the Enviro's are gaining Stagecoach livery and will be retained but anyone care to 'hedge thier bets' on what else stays.

I carnt see the Nimbus Dart being used as they ditched Bluebirds, and I doubt the Excels will see use or the B7's.

RE: JPT Bus Company - mbonwick - 30/04/2014 21:42

Can realistically only see the Enviro300s and the 2 tridents being retained.

I would imagine the Primos will stay for a while but will be disposed of fairly rapidly, or perhaps moved to Norfolk Green?!
I suppose, depending on the quality of the single door conversion and the general state of the B7TLs that the newer ones (51/02 plate and thus DDA compliant) may have a future in another Stagecoach division.

Other than that, I can't see much being retained.

RE: JPT Bus Company - Polo Mint - 30/04/2014 23:49

I'd like to think the Primos and Tridents still have life left in them, I would also think the odd ball Turkish buses will be used although I am not banking on it.

I think it has been reported that Stagecoach acquired the assets for a token £1, suggests they have taken on some of JPTs debt.
