RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot - 2829 - 23/01/2016 08:48 Let's not forget here it was First Bus that went to Merseytravel and Arriva asking for a QP to be introduced as they were at a loss with services. Theoretically, nor Arriva or Stagecoach are at a loss here when it comes to revenue. The agreement was that Arriva provided Heswalls of a night and First provided Chesters. RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot - Penny Return - 23/01/2016 09:22 Arriva must try and get the ban lifted from going in to Cheshire oaks to provide a better QBP for them revenue wise and to the benefit of passengers RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot - E400 - 23/01/2016 11:44 (23/01/2016 09:22)Penny Return Wrote: Arriva must try and get the ban lifted from going in to Cheshire oaks to provide a better QBP I cant see Stagecoach being too pleased with that seeing as Arriva 1s would reduce Stagecoachs capacity on the route and they have just bought a load of vehicles specifically for that route based on the current PVR. RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot - MPTE1955 - 23/01/2016 14:29 2638 has been at LS quite a number of weeks now RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot - gka472l - 23/01/2016 15:58 (23/01/2016 09:22)Penny Return Wrote: Arriva must try and get the ban lifted from going in to Cheshire oaks to provide a better QBP Just out of curiosity, why are they banned from there? I have often wondered the same because at one point the Arriva service 1 and 2 operated via there alongside the 418/9 and 459 , so something serious must have happened . RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot - MPTE1955 - 23/01/2016 22:00 Strange one, tried having a hunt around to see if I can find the reason why but can't find anything yet RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot - Quackdave - 24/01/2016 12:01 (23/01/2016 21:53)wirralbus Wrote: I have often wondered the same because at one point the Arriva service 1 and 2 operated via there alongside the 418/9 and 459 , so something serious must have happened . Not necessarily - if some of the roads in Cheshire Oaks are private property and not public highways, then presumably the owners have the right to decide what vehicles are allowed to use them for what purpose. In which case, might it not be simply a commercial deal, whereby they sell the right to be the exclusive operator of local buses there? |
