With regard to that it helps that if the portion from Norwich starts running excessively late the train gets restarted at Nottingham with a fresh unit and the bit from Norwich that is running late terminates at Nottingham when it eventually arrives

Four GWR 153s have arrived at Etches Park this morning - I hadn't read of EMT getting any, but then neither do I recall any info regarding the ones intended to go to LM to replace 150s either?

EMT's 156s and 158s are currently undergoing PRM work. There have been some short formations recently but the additional 4 x 153s should help prevent short formations.

The plan for LM to get 153s to replace the 150s was scrapped. The new West Midlands franchise are getting 3 x D-Trains for Marston Vale by the end of the year and will be releasing their 150s to Northern.

The first service from Liverpool with EMT comes empty from Nottingham via Dore South curve , must be one of the longest ECS moves around . On occasion when it has been late coming from Nottingham the service will be started from Warrington Central.

It starts at Warrington Central on a Tuesday to Friday approx every 6 weeks when there is engineering work on the Hope Valley and the ECS from Nottingham runs later than normal thus it would not get to Liverpool in time to work the first service without it being retimed outwards

EMT services diverted via Romiley for the rest of the day due to a problem at Disley Tunnel.

Last nights 1903 Liverpool South Parkway to Nottingham was formed of 153372, 153381 and 156406. The outward journey had startd at Peterborough with the 153s and the 156 was attached at Nottingham.
153372 is one of the four transferred from Great Western to East Midlands. It has been repainted into East Midlands livery.
