Is the 620 a Tfgm contract all the way between Hindley Green and St Helens or is it just to the GM/Merseyside border. RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes - T42 PVM - 05/06/2015 10:28 Its only contracted between Ashton and Hindley Green RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes - Jack - 06/06/2015 19:52 If I remember correctly the 620 was just an extension of one of the Ashton 320 journeys at the time then contracted the rest of the way. Correct. It is possible (although I cannot verify) that Arriva may have got the tender previously because they were willing to run it to/from St Helens commercially. There is nothing to stop another operator from doing the same. TfGM won't pay to run the service to/from Haydock as that would require more than one bus, plus it is simple enough for a change of bus to take place. Downside is the requirement for two tickets as System One doesn't extend far enough... that might be why what the situation above is the case currently. |
