With some Enviro300s going to the Olympics, I hope to ride a Volvo B10BLE when I come to Newcastle. I shall be concentrating on Tyne & Wear local areas on the Friday and Sunday, so the Friday would porbably be my best hope.

B10BLEs are mainly now based at South Shields (Walkergate does retain a few). Best place to find them is the X63 in Newcastle and the E1/E2/E6 in South Shields (though they have appeared on the X20 and X34 as well).

Saturday allocating involved the following:

5 52/58 duties were Olympians (16834/5/40 were three of them), with one of the LF vehicles being 37-branded 22062
1 35 duty was Olympian
2 13s were Olympians
Not noted before but the 12 from 1500 (Middlesbrough) til 1814 (Coulby Newham Parkway Centre finish) is a regular Olympian working (the front part for the driver of the Enviro-working 12/610), today being 16833
24115 was on the 12 all day from 1000 (one 12 duty on a Saturday doesn't start until 1000 so it can throw up pratically anything that's left over). The Enviro working this evening is 24107.

Monday marks the start of the 4-6 week closure of Middlesbrough Bus Station. Arrangements are now in-place as followed for the South Middlesbrough services:
Service 11/12: Setting down on Grange Road (outside the Cleveland Centre), Changing drivers on Corporation Road (presumably 11/34 driver changes will be taking place at the Bus Station), layover on the 12 between trips is a massive 19 minutes
Service 14: Setting down in the Temporary Bus Station but then running light to the Town Hall to pick up (14/34s will set down in the Bus Station before turning right out of the site to pick up on T34)
Service 13: The single driver change is taking place on stand T32 (Outside the Princesss Alice Pub), this is the only service to South Middlesbrough during the day to both pick up and set down at the temporary Bus Station
Services 610/611: Bus Station at all times, 611s will set down on either T32, 33 or T34 and then turn round to access T36

Thanks for the B10BLE update Kuyoyo. I may well ride an X63 from Newcastle to South Gosforth, connecting with a 6 or 7 to MetroCentre. While I understand that routes 6 and 7 use MAN-Enviro200s, these appear to be the only Stagecoach in Newcastle routes not serving the centre of Newcastle!

With an apparent chain-reaction cascade of Stagecoach vehicles, with many batches moving a "short" distance to more nearby companies rather than going straight to London, it will be really intriguing timing to be in Newcastle! I have already heard about Enviro400s coming to Manchester but have not seen any yet.

From that photo I reached this photo of 21105 on route E2. It is unusual for Stagecoach to run such old single-deckers anywhere but then the redeployment of other buses to the Olympic Games means an inevitable exception.

All 5 P-reg B10BLEs are still in day-to-day service. Indeed, 21104 has been in regular service for the past year.
