RE: Arriva North West - Southport Depot - H101GEV - 10/04/2014 21:45

I don't see any issues with the 375/85 remaining as it is as long as a reliable fleet of buses is found to operate it.

The Scania/Enviro400s Stagecoach uses on the X2/2X (an even longer route than the 375/85) seem to manage fine. I've used the X2 regularly for several years and it has never once let me down, whereas the 375 has on several occasions despite it being a route I seldom use. I don't really understand why the B7TLs which were and are so reliable at Speke should be so unsuitable for the Wigan route given their chassis. We can only hope the new Enviro400s will be better.

I am considering a trip to Southport in the near future. I have found a fleetlist up to date until the middle of February, so can anyone fill me in to what has happened here since then. I know 7651/2 are now with Yorkshire Tiger and I have just spotted 4097 has arrived recently. Have there been any other changes...?

Thanks in advance.

In Ribble days the Leyland National hammered this route, they don't make them like that anymore!! I feel old!!

Thanks Daniel, certainly of interest to me. Nearly an all Renown 300 line-up for once; still don't think I've ever seen a full Renown allocation on that route!
