Does anyone know anything about the future of depots that MCT had and has.

They had only recently changed to a bigger depot that streamlined operations across their network, would another operator such as Diamond (who has taken a lot of Stockport routes) or a new company eyeing the franchising prospects be interested in taking the depot when MCT closes?

The eccles depot isn’t much further from stockport than Chadderton so can’t see diamond being interested.

The Chadderton depot is being kept on for now for storage and engineering facilities.
The Stockport depot and body shop were still being paid for last I heard due to a disagreement with the landlord.

1> Why would MCT keep a depot for engineering purposes when they won't be operating services?

2> What time will the final vehicle get to Chadderton Depot tonight?

3> Once services finish tonight whats happening to the current fleet that MCT have got and will the whole fleet be still parked up in the yard tomorrow?

2) I would assume it’s the vehicle off the 247 that gets in to altrincham about 0015 (if that journey is still running)

Draw your own conclusions I know what mine are Smile

2> What time will the final vehicle get to Chadderton Depot tonight?

Last bus gets in tonight at about 01.10 driven by MCT’s oldest driver at 82.

Yes the staff that are being kept on have a busy week taking all the green buses off site - wait till everyone finds out where they are going!!
And destsickering and cleaning buses before they move onto new depots.

The green TFGM owned hybrids have today been moved from the Chadderton depot to Stockport bus station where they will be stored until Optare can canablise them for parts.

Doesn’t sound like secure storage.

They don’t have anywhere to store them. Optare don’t want them all at Trafford Park.
