The Olys at Barrow are for schools only I believe, and unlike Kendal are not required in normal service.

16642 is still active at Kendal, but was either broken or not required when you saw it.

Thanks I thought I might see one in Barrow on schools so assume they avoid the town. It could be 16642 has a problem. One other query and that is the whereabouts of 16666 as in three visits to West Cumbria in the past 2 weeks it is the only Lillyhall step entrance bus not seen?

It's been off having a school bus conversion, it's back out in service now.

Thanks, hopefully next time I'm up there it will be about.

This is what 22960 is usually to be found on. I have never understood this, but it is a Carlisle vehicle working outstationed at Lillyhall. Why it is not a West Cumbria operation I do not know.

The 600 is different on Saturdays and the 301 is Monday to Friday only. I do not go into Carlisle on Saturdays very often but I do not think 20960 works on Saturdays and presumably is parked up over there for the weekend. Perhaps someone else on here can explain this?Undecided

It might as well be a Lillyhall run these days. The bus used to do the 6:55 300 then would run empty to Wigton to run in again on 8:55 Syke Rd Wigton - Carlisle 600 before going onto 93s. A separate bus used to do the 9:40 and 13:40 600s.

On a Saturday it does the Asby - Cockermouth - Carlisle 600, 11:40 600 to WC Hospital, back to Carlisle then 15:40 600 to Asby, running empty back to Lillyhall.

Thanks guys sounds like it is unlikely to get a B10 on Saturday so I might have to visit on a weekday this week. A couple of weeks ago it was bit different with 20944 on the 600 and 20219 on the Penrith staff shuttle one day and on the 38 the next. I didn't see 20960 or 20965 at all.

20965 has replaced 20960 on the 301/600 runs and 20960 is parked up at Carlisle depot.

According to the latest fleet allocation list dated 10th November Olympians 16118/9 (R118/9 XNO) have arrived from Fife and are in Reserve at Carlisle; Iveco 46690 SP54 EGF has also arrived at Carlisle.
Another change reflecting enrag2000's report above is that 20960 has replaced 20965 as the transfer to the ancillary fleet. 20965 is now back on Carlisle's allocation. Other changes are just delicensing of seasonal vehicles 17014/5/6/217, 22121/41.

20960 has actually been withdrawn, its place on the ancilliary fleet taken by 46690.

16118/9 both came from Fort William rather than Fife. I have not yet seen either of them on the road but at least one - 16119 - has been repainted - there are photos of these on Flickr (not mine):

The photo caption states one is to replace 16776 but this is still at Carlisle.

Olympian 16650 which was on loan at Lancaster is now back at Carlisle and has been on the 554 Keswick service for about the past week instead of 18357. 16336 is no longer here and I think it has gone to Barrow.

With the end of summer services 77/77A, there is now an extra spare Solo at Carlisle and today 47721 and 47722 were both on Carlisle city services instead of Dart SLFs. Normally one of these stays at Penrith for the winter on service 78 but one of the other Solos must be over there - possibly 47022 or 47754 which I have not seen in Carlisle this week.

The fleetcard shows 16118/9 coming from Fife though they actually came from Fort William (Highland) and 46690 coming from Highland though it actually came from Fife!

Thanks Gents for the updates on 20960, 16118/9 etc.
I notice that 34679 is being painted green in the pic in Carlisle paintshop. It looks good.

34220 was on service yesterday, running on X4 shorts from Workington to Keswick.
17365 was leaving the bus station showing 86 Portinscale at around 13:15, but this had probably just finished a turn.
47009 is also still in use despite still being officially in reserve, seen running in Whitehaven last weekend.
