I do recall seeing in one of Shearings timetables around 1988/89 the Sunday service on the 44. I know their timetables at the time included all/any contracted services that they operated. Going a bit off topic - I also recall seeing Sunday services around Northwich in these timetables.

skem was once an high profitable garage in the northwestern days as there routes covered a wide area,i always remember the tv's they had fitted to there buses for the passengers to watch.

Funny enough the TV's used to show old programmes such as On the Buses, remember the TV's going into those horrible EL2000's as well.

i use to think it was a good idea,as a child i just wanted to catch there buses just so i could watch tv while travelling to and from st helens and parr on the 339.

I wasnt quite a child when they came in but more like late-teens-early twentys but in a way they were a good idea particularly on a longish journey, didnt last that long though did they.

nah, only a few months i think as then they left them fitted but just disconnected them as sometimes id see drivers on the 10A at parr sat down watching it on there drop back before departing for liverpool

I always thought the old Parr-Liverpool 10A was operated by Bootle depot.
Can anybody remember which depot ran the old 402 from St. Helens - Aigburth and what route this took and when it stopped operating?

Another couple of old Skem routes are 100 Southport- Preston,
101 Ormskirk- Preston and 365 Southport-Ashurst/Birch Green.
