Engineering work taking place in the Liverpool loop today and next Sunday 19th May.
All services on the Wirral Line terminating at James Street.
This is the dress rehersal for the month long blockade

the tunnels walls are getting sand blasted clean and worn out rail will be removed and replaced with some other track improvements as well.

The day after one of the busiest days in the Merseyrail Calendar , another reason why its probably starting then and not any earlier.
Friday 12 July is Chester Races and Orange Lodge Day
Hope someone has told Merseyrail
Saturday 13 July there is a day meeting at Chester , this is a day when there is a rail replacement bus service from Liverpool to Birkenhead Central and Birkenhead North.

507003 + 507004 were both coupled on the 15:43 to hunts cross today. merseyrail will be on it's roof on the 12/7 with both Chester races and the Orange lodge parade in Southport.

There has been a points failure on the approach to Platform 2 at Liverpool Central which has now been rectified this morning , but the first few services to use this platform have been disrupted .
The points on the approach to Liverpool Central and also at Sandhills dont half take a pounding .

Might be wrong but believe there was a fatality between hooton and chester on tuesday. anyone know what unit was involved.

looking at an article on the chester chronicle it happened at bache and seemed to be 507008. fortunately the woman has survived but with serious injuries, all emergency services were sent to the scene including the air ambulance hovering over in circles. trains were up and running within under an hour after it took place.
